Bio: William M. Olinger. 79, well known local resident, died at 12:47 a.m. this morning at his home on Seymour R2 following an illness of eight weeks.A retired farmer, Mr. Olinger was born March 6, 1879, in Jennings county, son of the late Adam and Mary Hunt Olinger. He was married March 13, 1898, in Seymour to Bessie L. Madden, who survives.Mr. Olinger was highly respected by a wide host of friends throughout Jackson county, where he had resided for the past 55 years. He was a faithful member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. In March of this year the Olinger's celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and an open house at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Arthur Brethauer and Mr. Brethauer, 628 West second street. Over 100 people called at the Brethauer home to show their respect and affection for the beloved couple.Besides the widow, Mr. Olinger is survived by three children, E. J. Olinger of Indianapolis, Mrs. Mary Brethauer of this city and M.F. Olinger of Indianapolis; and one sister, Mrs. Rose Padgett of Seymour. Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday from St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. Father I. T. Mattingly, pastor, in charge. burial in the Catholic Cemetery.Friends may call at the Voss Mortuary afternoon Friday. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.Seymour Daily Tribune
